About us
EFS Bioremedia DOO is the Serbian subsidiary of Iszapfaló Kft. Our mission is simple: to bring life back to water bodies burdened by sludge, eutrophication and human impact — through biological treatment combined, where needed, with mechanical sludge removal, and continuous monitoring.
01 · Story
Iszapfaló Kft. was founded in 2006 in Gödöllő (Hungary) with the idea that sludge should not be treated as waste, but as a resource that can be stabilized, dehydrated and safely reintegrated into the ecosystem.
Over the following two decades we developed specialized machinery for shallow waters, built on-site dewatering systems, and worked with universities to develop an open biological treatment cycle. In 2017 we built our first automated dredger, and in 2022 we moved into a new workshop where we can run complex production processes — including our own sewing facility, optimized for heavy-duty geotextiles.
We founded EFS Bioremedia DOO as our Serbian subsidiary because we recognized that northern Vojvodina — with its shallow, eutrophic lakes and worsening water scarcity — requires local presence and local understanding. Palić, Ludaš, Bezdan and many smaller lakes face the same challenges as Bácska and Hortobágy on the other side of the border.
02 · Values
Before we bring out the dredger, we ask: can the ecosystem restore its balance with the right help? In many cases the answer is yes. But when mechanical sludge removal is needed, we have the capacity for that too.
Every project starts and ends with measurement. Dissolved oxygen, pH, chlorophyll-a, total phosphorus and nitrogen, sludge thickness — without these numbers there's nothing to say about success.
A small team in Subotica, but behind us are partners in Hungary, Croatia and Germany. We bring the experience of four countries to your site.
Monitoring, optimization, annual review — all included in the first-year price. After treatment we regularly help and advise based on the data — you call us when you have a question, we call you when we see a problem.

Leads EFS Bioremedia DOO in Subotica. President of the Product Areas Cluster, co-author of our shared Palić Lake knowledge base. His Subotica presence has built our Vojvodina client and institutional relationships for years — especially on municipal and agricultural projects.
Parent company coordination — Managing Director, Iszapfaló Kft. (Gödöllő)
Managing Director of our parent company Iszapfaló Kft. and coordinator of the technical cooperation with EFS Bioremedia DOO. Has led Iszapfaló's developments in sludge management, hydraulic engineering and water management for two decades — the engineering foundation of Bioremedia DOO's work.
